Introduction to our Care Home

Many families and carers find the move to residential care a difficult decision to make. Our wealth of experience and knowledge can make the transition easier for everyone involved. Our staff are dementia trained and work within physical environments which are homely, non-institutionalised and intimate, enabling us to effectively support families and friends, as well as the service user, through this challenging period.

We have been providing a number of specialist residential and community support programmes to people with dementia since 1988. We strive to provide care designed to assist older people manage their condition more positively, to enhance their lives, following the principles of person-centred care, and by seeking to recognise and maintain, as far as is possible, an individual’s unique qualities, abilities, interests, preferences and needs.

Lifestyle and leisure programmes, to meet individual needs, include regular music therapy, chair dance, motivation, Tai Chi classes, reminiscence therapy, a Walk A Day group and feel good pamper days, as well as a comprehensive programme of outings throughout the year

A significant amount of our time is dedicated, every day, to encouraging leisure activities and on our ‘active for life’ philosophy. This focus has seen prolonged, happier and more engaged lives for the people in our care. When we see smiles and hear laughter, we know we are making a real difference to someone’s life. When a person is engrossed in their activity, we feel their contentment, and when a relative cries with joy to see their loved one involved, happy, relaxed and at peace, we feel humble and valued.
