Day Care

Day care gives your loved one a warm, sociable place to spend the day, with company, gentle activity and a friendly face throughout. They return home each evening, having enjoyed small, happy moments in a place that feels calm and familiar.

Day Care

What is Elderly day care?

Day care is support during the day for people living at home, including those living with dementia. Your loved one joins us in the morning and returns home later that day.

At Hale Place, we take time to understand the person and what helps them feel comfortable. Some people love joining in. Others prefer a quieter day with one-to-one company. There’s no pressure, just a calm routine, good food, and small, happy moments.

Day Care

Who is it for?

Day care is for people living at home who would benefit from company, a warm meal, and a little structure to the day. It can also help when memory changes mean the day feels more confusing or lonely.

It’s often a relief for families too, whether you’re working, managing appointments, or simply need time to rest.

Day care can also be a gentle introduction to Hale Place. It lets your loved one get to know the home and the team at their own pace, with no pressure.

Day Care

Our Approach

We create a calm, friendly day where people can enjoy company and feel part of something. Some people like to join in with group activities. Others prefer quieter time, a chat, or simply sitting peacefully.

There are opportunities for music, gentle movement, games, arts and crafts, time outdoors and occasional outings when they feel right. What matters most is that each day is shaped around the person, not a timetable.

Help is always there when it’s needed, offered with dignity, warmth and respect. We take time to understand what makes someone feel comfortable and settled, so even a single day can include small, happy moments.

What people say about us...

The care and stimulation provided is outstanding. Mum is treated as a member of a family. She is happy and stimulated, and partakes in all the activities provided. We feel very confident that Mum's daily needs and welfare are met to the highest standard. We are kept informed of any concerns. We believe this care home allows her to live the best possible life.

Exceptional. I have noticed so much difference and improvement in cognitive abilities. This is due to a safe and supportive environment where every need is not just met but exceeded. Resulting in a relaxed, happy, well nourished, well hydrated person. I had no idea that dementia could be improved so much with such specialised and precise care. Thank you.

An outstanding care provider, as a family we have been so relieved to know that our mother is so well looked after, the staff really have got to know her and the activities have meant that our mother feels as busy as she was before she got dementia.

The best thing we found with Hale Place is the trips they took Nan out on. It's lovely and reassuring to see Nan smiling in the pictures. Hale Place is truly one in a million.

The important questions

How many days a week can my loved one attend day care?

Day care at Hale Place is flexible. Some people come one day a week for company and a change of scene. Others attend several days for more consistent support. We’ll talk it through with you and find what fits your loved one’s needs and your family’s routine.

How is a day care place arranged?

Start by getting in touch. We’ll have a relaxed chat to understand what you need and whether day care feels like the right fit. If it does, we’ll arrange a visit and take you through the next steps in plain English.

Is day care at Hale Place suitable for someone in the later stages of dementia?

It can be, depending on the person and what support they need day to day. Talk to us about your loved one’s situation and we’ll be honest about whether day care is the right option, and what we can put in place to support them safely and comfortably.
